The great thing about the synthetic Miyuki string yarn is that it doesn't split quickly. This makes it easier to get the needle onto the thread and there is less risk of accidentally poking the needle through the thread. The Miyuki string yarn is very strong, available in different colors and is nice and smooth due to the wax layer on it. This string yarn is packed per 50 meters and it is thin enough to be able to string through the same bead several times.
